I don't see any major increase (like to 200 volts) in
the mains in the United States in any time in the
foreseeable futurs.
Most electric companies are now trying to maintain 125
volts +/- 2 volts (usually on the "+" side making it
127 volts) so that they can deliver more absolute
power to the consumer without overloading the lines.
This actually means that the average home receives
between 250 volts and 254 volts which is center
tapped.
