Hi,
US voltage now runs as high as 125 volts in some residential and business
locations. I monitor the voltage here at home and it swings between 121 and 125
volts depending on the time of day. I have seen it get as high as 127 volts
for short periods.
Some of the older tube gear is rated as high as 125 volts, but that puts a
strain on everything in my humble opinion. I normally use a variac with my
vintage gear and keep it around 117 volts.
If it is necessary to have a transformer rewound, you can specify the input
winding ratio and in that situation, I usually will have it set up fo 125V on
the primary. I doubt US voltages will go any higher than that, but you never
know.
