[Boatanchors] AM bandwidth

AOR and Ten-tec have already demonstrated on the air that 3 KHz digital
phone can work and sound very good. AOR claims "as good as FM quality" in
1/5 the bandwidth. Technically minded AM'ers should look into this type
of technology as forward going work within the AM community. Boatanchors
still could be the "power-driving" force and the reception tool but each
piece of hardware would require some type of encoder and decoder. If
AM'ers want to continue to march through the 21st century and keep flying
the "progressive" banner, this is a great way to do it. I firmly believe
the FCC will look more fondly at Amateurs who are moving along, and
keeping abreast, of the latest technologies.
Class E has been around for a number of years. While building a Class E
rig shows your technical competency at building, if not really advancing
the state of "AM" or "radio" art.

Has anyone in Boatanchorland documented - by measurement - any of the
HiFi-like audio stations having bandwidth more than say 6,000 or 9,000
wide?
Also...how many of these HiFi stations are there?..are these the E-class
rigs?
