Someone else mentioned earlier using Excel. I have been using Excel for
inventories
relating to ham stuff for quite some time. At this point I have several
thousand tubes
in inventory. Currently only putting new stock in the inventory. Used tubes
will be later.
Still boxes full of used tubes to be IDd and checked (who doesn't?) then put
in the
used inventory.
Excel is quick and easy. I store tubes in file storage boxes and number them
sequentially
and by location (garage, shack, big Qhut storage etc). Tube type, number in
stock and
location is about all I need for my purposes. If I need a tube I can check
my inventory
and get one quickly. If you need other information it is just a matter of
another column
of information.
Yes it is a bit labor intensive up front but after some effort the chore
becomes a nice
and valuable tool.
Of course I inventory other stuff the same way with different spreadsheets
in Excel.
I put an icon for each sheet on my desktop for quick reference.
Works for me.
