Hi all,
Mark is right.

The Douglas plant at Long Beach, California produced B-17F's. Douglas
manufactured a total of 605 B-17F's (B-17F-1-DL thru -85-DL).

Only the first three Douglas-built B-17Fs and the first five Vega-built
B-17Fs were block number 1. The details of similar B-17F block numbers as
built by the three companies did not correspond, so it was necessary to
include the manufacturer's code (BO for Boeing, DL for Douglas, VE for
Vega) for complete determination of details for service publications.

Douglas-Long Beach Block 50 serial range B-17F-50-DL Fortress c/n 8275/8329
(which is 54 aircraft)

6-2-43 would be 2nd June 1943.

W535-AC-20291 is the contract number. If you google W535-AC you will find
lots of contract numbers for aircraft and associated fittings.

Cheers,

John
