[Boatanchors] 6SG7 VS 717A tubes?

Hello,

Thank you for the good information.  I'd made a mistake though.  It was 
in the FIRST RF amplifier, NOT the 2nd IF stage.  Where I got confused 
is the 6H6 Tube (double diode) is immediately adjacent to the 1st RF 
amplifier.  I'm not used to seeing detector and limiter tubes located 
next to the first stage of the receiver! (I wouldn't design that way ;-)
