Lucky find..
In my business, 8643 used as final amp in highband highpower VHF
mobile units, Motorola and others. It is a beefed up 5894A, has
larger anode pins however.
The 8072 used in Motorola, GE and EF Johnson/Comco base stations,
UHF mainly, 90Watts continous output,(with proper heat sink and
cooling) also GE used them in UHF Mastr Pro series mobiles too.
It has a tricky problem, depending on manufacture of tube. Grid
capacitance is critical and will oscillate realy easy if not properly
compensated. RCA different than Amprex and Eimac by quite a bunch.
8072 is a real expensive tube if procured in commercial channels.
