Yes. Exactly why I suggested a dual-trace, triggered sweep.
Vintage is fun. As a test gear and scope collector I have equipment to
make up a bench full of several brands, as they would have looked
'then'. Things like the early Heathkit 'red-line' gear, or a '50s
Precision Apparatus TV-radio bench with a sig gen, sweeper, VTVM, scope,
and so forth - all matching. It's a treat to restore and use the stuff,
and to show-and-tell to friends. But real troubleshooting is work. Why
make more of it by tying one hand back? There are still "vintage"
scopes with many of the benefits of modern functionality.
So Bill, what do you think you'd like?
