I picked up an FT-102 that I thought looked in good shape. Plugged it in
and the rig was 0 MHz.
Opened it up and to my surprise, the main power transformer has been
removed. There is also some scorching along the case frame where it was,
but all the leads appear to still be there. I don't know if the scorching
was a result of soldering to get the leads off or if the transformer
shorted out.
I would like to restore this rig if economically possible. I need to get
ahold of a manual, but until then...Can anyone give me a part number or
reference to the transformer's characterizes? Maybe a Mouser number or
something like that? Are there any known replacement parts I can order off
the shelf? Either way, I would like to know the properties of the
transformer if anyone has a manual.
Also, lets just say the scorch marks are from the transformer shorting out.
What are the chances it burned out so much else in the rig that's it's
going to be really expensive and difficult to restore?
Thanks.
