[Boatanchors] Ground rods

You have still disturbed the earth "around" the hole and near where the
rod will be.
Conductive material needs to be renewed. It doesn't last for long
periods. Best to place conductive materials in a shallow hole above the
rod and water. Or use active chemical ground rods where the ingeidience
can be renewed from time to time.
But first you have to get the rod in the ground. :>)
