Bob & Group,

I have a manual here that came out of the National plant after they went out
of business (the front cover is stamped "File Copy"). Title is "Instruction
Manual for Experimental Model NC-127D Diversity Receiving Equipment". The
manual is pretty thin and doesn't exactly match your radio as neither the
schematic nor the line drawing of the front panel show an S-meter. No date that I can
find. The receiver covered by this manual is single-conversion and uses
double-ended tubes in the RF's, mixer and IF's (6K7's, 6J7 and 6K7's). 6J5 HFO.
6V6 output. The Diversity Gain pot controls the 1st IF and the text says that
it is for balancing the gains of multiple receivers.

And BTW, it's "haze gray". Hence the sailor's lament, "haze gray and under
way". :-)
