Bill.
VTVM's- don't overlook the famous RCA aka VIZ, WV-98C, with the WG-99
probe. They work forever, are good for several MHZ on AC, suitable for
most BA gear. Used one for years in two-way work. Found at flea
markets
and hamfest from $10 up to over $100 depending on condx and age, they
were made for years. Also check probe to be sure not zapped by TV
Horizontal HV, as most come out of TV shops in past.
I sold 2 a while back for $50 each. They were very early ones and both
guys tickled pink to get them. Besides working pretty good they look
real neat! Big meter! I still have (use) an RCA and have a Triplett
knock off too. World famous HP 410B, reference of industry, is of course
the bestest. The 410C OK but can be flacky, exhibits the usual solid
state quirks around highpower HF.
