Hi,
Well, my recommendation is usually for the 390A but if you want a
"bandcruiser" I have to recommend the Racal RA17(or any variant) The
sensitivity is excellent and you have very "user friendly " tuning, all with
the accuracy of the R390 series. # 2 would have to be the SP-600(I also
like the SX-73) Just don't fall off the wagon and get something solid state,
It just ain't the same!! By the way, my bedside radio is an Eddystone 730/4,
I like that very much also...it has a definite size advantage.(according to
the wife) Good Luck, let us know what you end up with!!
