Well the SX-73 (I own one) is a good radio just like the other SX series
sets I own only better in warm up drift. To me it's still a consumer radio.
You want a shortwave DX reciever? Find an R390 or R390a. They are the best
vacuum tube radio's (in my opinion) ever made.

Yes I've got an SX-62A sitting by my bedside which gets used for late night
shortwave listening & sometimes one of the local classical music stations.
