[Boatanchors] RE: Astatic elements

I'm trying to check a bunch of mikes I hve here and find
one that I'm puzzled by?????
The element is an Asatic MC563 and the mike appears to be
from the 40's. I do read abt 30 ohms across the element and it
has a red dot on the one lug. I can't seem to get any audio from it.
Does this require a DC supply or something???????????
