Hi all!
I picked up a military receiver at a garage sale today and I need some
help identifing it (the id plate is missing).
It's a rack mounted receiver made by Clarke Instruments (Div. of
National Electrical Machine Shops Inc., Silver Spring, MD) which covers
175-260 MC. It has the following controls: audio gain, power, AFC (off,
on,
external), fuse, op/stby, tuning (including a gear driven disc scale
above),
a speaker on the front panel and two meters (made by Burlington) for tuning
and signal strength. It has a date code on the back of June 5, 1954. The
back panel has the following: input jack (so-239), ac, ext. afc(screw
term.), ext. meter(screw term.), recorder(screw term.), 10mv adj.(pot),
recorder f.s. adj.(pot), disc. bal.(pot), panoramic output (bnc), and
output
(so-239). It has the following tubes: 6J4, (2) 6AK5, (3) 6CB6, 6AL5, 6J6,
(3) 12AU7, 5V4G, and a VR-150. There is a schematic on the bottom cover
that says "Model E".
Can anyone tell me the military model number or any other info. for
this
set? I can email some pictures if that would help.
Thanks and 73,
- Greg
