Hi Rudy; In my previous QTH I routed my coax and control cables thru the
gable vent, across the attic floor and then thru the ceiling (drilling a
hole for each cable) of the closet in the radio room. This works great if
you have a closet in the shack to "hide" the cables. The cables came under
the closet door along the base board to the rig and was very un noticeable.
When I built my new house I had two 3" pvc conduits run under the slab from
the radio room closet to the outside....one conduit to the West side and the
other to East side of the house. I pulled a 1/2 inch Heliax along with
several RG-8 and rotor control cables. They are grounded at the entrance to
the conduit and I also have a in-line RF protector at the rig. During
construction I also brought the ufer/cold water ground into the shack for
grounding the equipment. Everything's neatly hidden and
protected.........now if I could only put up an antenna!!
Support HB 4720.
