[ARRL-OK] Mustang New Draft Antenna Ordinance Proposal

Hi Jim
It's one hell of a lot better than it was.  70% Setback for guyed towers.  The 50 ft number came from the OKC ordinance.  Mustang hasn't done us any favors, and if there are any big gotchas, Chris Imlay will bring them to light.  He has had the new draft since about 2:00PM Newington time, and I haven't received a response from him as yet. The City Manager siad there woud be no fee for the permit.  I really didn't like the permit thing either, but they put it in at the eleventh hour.  When Chris responds, I'll get it published ASAP.

Eddie you are correct, this thing is an abomination.  Setback
requirements alone will preclude the erection of almost any tower on a
regular sized city lot.  There is no grandfather clause for existing
towers, so will present owners be required to remove them, apply and
re-erect?  Normally accommodation would allow a height of 60 rather then
50 ft. as many cities have done.  Whose installation engineering
requirements will apply?  This thing is full of holes.

What a mess, I hope the ARRL counsel can do something with this bunch.
