Hi to the group.
For some unknown reason my Heil ICM mic element went bad.
Had to yell into the mic to get any audio out. I successfully
replaced it with a Radio Shack Condenser Microphone Element
p/n 270-090 at a cost of $2.49. It looks very similar to the
Heil ICM element. On the air reports were impressive. I had
successfully replaced a raspy sounding element in my SM-10
about a year ago with the same part number from RS.
I currently use an Icom ProII transceiver.
Not a bad price for a spare element. 73 de Fred.
BTW The PROII is the finest piece of communications equipment
I have ever had the pleasure to use versus its cost.
