Since I see RACES as a support function, I don't see a need for a RACES
group to become involved in InfraGuard. I feel the local jurisdiction
should be involved in InfraGuard (and may select a ham do be the Point of
Contact).

Amateur Radio supports Communication. InfraGuard provides information.
Therefore, the Amateur Radio Support would be to communicate the
information.

Some of the information I am seeing on InfraGuard is publicly available, ex.
virii warnings available from Symantec and Norton, while other information
is embargoed to the members. The latter may be available from a
non-embargoed source.

I think InfraGuard is a good product. I would encourage each jurisdiction
to be a member of it. Remember that InfraGuard is NOT a Nationwide group,
but rather individual groups at the local/State level. Because you are the
RO at the State level, I could see your need to be involved, personally, but
that would be your Director's call.

Much of what you will see on InfraGard is Cyber related.

InfraGard is an information sharing and analysis effort serving the
interests and combining the knowledge base of a wide range of members. At
its most basic level, InfraGard is a cooperative undertaking between the
U.S. Government (led by the FBI and the NIPC) and an association of
businesses, academic institutions, state and local law enforcement agencies,
and other participants dedicated to increasing the security of United States
critical infrastructures.

For more information regarding InfraGuard, see http://www.infragard.net/

As for Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service locally, I do not have a formal
group. I do have a number of amateur radio operators as volunteers. I also
use the Military Affiliate Radio System in local drills.

Let me know how more I can help.
