Nope.  Sorry.  The TN-6 Instruction plate makes
it clear it's for tuning a small "tactical" antenna,
and, moreover, tells you how to "rig" it unto an
existing AN/ARC-5 installation's Antenna Switch,
which goes to the small tactical antenna
of a small aircraft.
Not a word about trailing antennas.

Even if one could tune the sets to 40 watts-
which, given the design of the output network
and the TN-6's design to match a small tactical
antenna would be highly unlikely-  the EIRP
of a typical small craft tactical antenna would
be a few milliwatts at best, vs. very significant
EIRP from the Liaison set and trailing antenna
of a B-29.   I again stand by the fact that
the AN/ARC-5 MF equipment was utterly
unsuited to the DF role.

All that said, I just posted something that
just occured to me- it wouldn't be the
first time or the last that a system was
ordered that couldn't do the job.
That is a real possibility.
Using ARC-5 MF effectively in the DF role is not.
