The BC-611 had to have had one of the most inefficient antennas ever invented by man. I am surprised that nobody came up with a workable long wire antenna for it.

The BC-611 was used multiple times for the ground rescue personnel to talk to the aircraft providing rescue support, usually C-47's. For example they dropped one guy in and he discovered that the airman who had come down in the area needed major medical assistance. So when the C-47 came back the next day he relayed this information and the following day they dropped an entire medical team along with its supplies.
