In the book "Eats Shoots and Leaves" the author talks about
the use and misuse of apostrophes. In particular he gives example
of what he calls the greengrocer's apostrophe, as in Apple's or
sometimes Apples'. This is a book I strongly recommend to any
who are interested in English usage.
