Actually though, they will work. When I was a novice in 1957, I had a low
power transmitter with a vibrator supply designed to run off a 6 volt wet
cell. My elmer wound a 6 volt transformer with heavy wire and we ran that
into the vibrator transformer. My signal may have been horriblee, but I
worked ll over the country with that transmitter. I also recall him saying
that they used to do that with car radios too.
