[ARC5] Vibrator Power Supplies

Manufacturers such as Gonset and Elmac made dual supplies (6/12 VDC vibrator and 117 VAC) supplies for their mobile rigs.  There may have been others, also.

The are typically designed for 100 or 115 Hz, so unless they were originally made with a second primary for lines operation (as tube type CBs and older amateur VHF rigs sometimes were), there is likely not enough iron or copper to allow operation on 50/60 Hz.

Today I dismantled on old Lear aircraft radio power supply to use the chassis for something else.



Are vibrator power supply transformers likely to work well on 60 HZ or are they designed to use higher frequencies?
