[ARC5] Mike Preamp?

     I don't know of a ready built mic pre-amp but there should be lots 
of circuits on the web. You need something very simple.
    Half a watt will drive most communications speakers to quite a loud 
level. Make sure you have some sort of impedance match. Most of the 
vacuum tube receivers did not put out much more than a watt (with rather 
high distortion).
