[ARC5] Mike Preamp?

Looks like I am going to need a mike preamp on my ARC-114 and ARC-116.  Any of y'all have any circuits you would recommend?  I am going to run some tests using an audio signal generator to see what kind of input levels are required. 

I found a 500MW audio amp kit at RadioShack.com for $5.00 and I'll use that for audio output.  Headphone volume is entirely adequate but I may want to use a speaker.
