Reminds me of the old joke here in New Zealand about the Pukeko (a
distinctive bird about the size of a full grown chicken that is often seen
along the side of motorways, even in busy cities like Auckland).

"Those Pukekos, are they ok for eating?"
"Sure, you can cook them up. Put one in a large pot of water along with a
large stone from a riverbed. Bring to the boil and keep boiling for 6
hours. Then take out the Pukeko and throw it away and eat the stone."
