Let me introduce you folks to the test for coffee found in Oregon
logging camp folklore ,100 years ago. It's called the Horse Shoe Test.

You're at a logging camp, and all you have are saucepans. So, you put
some coffee and water in a pan and let it simmer for a while. After a
while, you toss some egg shells in to settle the grounds to the bottom.

But how do you tell when the coffee is done? You toss a steel horse shoe
in. If it sinks, the coffee isn't strong enough. If it floats, the
coffee is just about right. BUT, if it dissolves, the coffee is too strong.

FYA,

Scott
