Look for an unbypassed HT feed to the local oscillator. If a bypass cap is
not fitted,
or is disconnected, or is a seriously wrong value fitted by mistake, the
local oscillator
may still run but the tuning cap range will be affected.
Look for simple problems before adjusting slugs, which usually never shift.
