[ARC5] Differences between groups

Hi Mike,

I don't know as I was not a list member at startup (probably by years).
I acquired an R-23 a long time ago (1980s) and eventually another and a
couple of BC-453s. My approach is to actually use the radios while
avoiding mods. Mine were all already modified when I got them (some of
them 'butchered'). I have been gradually unmodding them except for
replacement capacitors and out of spec resistors. That will probably
never be completed before I am gone. Only one of them does not yet work
at all.

I often abuse the nomenclature. Thanks to this group I know a little
more about that and I have resorted to calling them "command receivers"
because I have a mixed assortment. Have fun with yours.

73,

Bill KU8H

Was the ARC5 list originally intended for the Navy command sets or because it was the popular name used by Hams for all types of command sets. It rolls off the tongue easier than SCR-274-N.
