Even though most of the capacitors in question are hidden inside, anyone
who does remove the bottom cover will know immediately that someone has been
inside the set. Having encountered dozens if not hundreds of sets that
obviously weren't repaired while in original service, and knowing that the
majority of such usually poor quality hacking resulted in poorer performance, my
standard method is to rebuild canned capacitors rather than to replace them
with some sort of terminal strip, regardless of how neatly done. Rebuilding
is usually more time consuming than jury rigging but it is unlikely you will
even have to do it twice.
