There is a Hallicrafters reflector on mailman.qth. However, not that active.
I would do a "Google" search on Hallicrafters and there should be a LOT of links.
Hallicrafters used the "damp chaser" in a number of receivers including some SX-101 units. They do help stabilize the frequency. However, there are other ways of doing this. Sorta like the Hammarlund advertisements for the receivers with the clock / timer wherein it was suggested to use the timer to turn on the receiver at least an hour before using to improve the frequency stability. Subject: Re: [ARC5] Receive Drift Testing
Hi Glen
thank you for the data on the SX111 drifting. It's actually a fairly nice receiver that I've had for many years although not used that much. I'm not sure the "Damp Chaser is an asset or a liability" as a thermal stabilizing device. Base on the drift rate I'm inclined to look at the Neg comp capacitors to see what can be done electronically. But that's another project. BTW can you point me to the hallicrafters links?
thank you
