FWIW, at Hewlett-Packard we used a thermostatically controlled
electric oven for drying equipment after washing. It was set at 130F.
This is warm enough to drive out moisture but not hot enough to damage
anything although I think I would remove plastic dial windows and
similar items. After washing we dried for a minimum of 48 hours, I
preferred three or four days to be sure. You can make a usable temporary
oven of nested cardboard boxes with a light bulb (incandescent) inside
for heat but you should also have a thermometer stuck through. Oven
thermometers available at the grocery store will read low enough.
Probably a small fan to keep the heat distributed and move moist air
away will help. Now, our electric oven was vented to allow moist air to
escape so I would cut some holes in the box to vent it.

I CAN see where the steering wheel work tray might be useful for hams
doing contests from their cars (parked) such as Field Day or VHF/UHF
contests as rovers, especially when operating as "single" operator!

My favorite:
<http://www.amazon.com/Tuscan-Whole-Milk-Gallon-128/dp/B00032G1S0>
I'll tease some of it...
Once upon a mid-day sunny, while I savored Nuts 'N Honey,
With my Tuscan Whole Milk, 1 gal, 128 fl. oz., I swore
As I went on with my lapping, suddenly there came a tapping,
As of some one gently rapping, rapping at the icebox door.
'Bad condensor, that,' I muttered, 'vibrating the icebox door -
Only this, and nothing more.'
I about died the first time I read it...
thanks much and 73,

Hi folks
Will continue the receiver drift testing next week. The last receiver on
the bench was my Hallicrafters SX111 which drifted so much on the first test
(drifted up 8 KHz in the first couple hours so I stopped the test since
something is probably wrong with the unit as it just has to be better than
the S38B?? The 51J4 and the SX101A are next to be followed by the SX62A and
what ever I can drag up from the storage areas next.
Thanks to all that have responded to the postings
