Another very good book is "A Race on the Edge of Time"  by David 
Fisher.     Story of how RADAR developed during WW II and why it was 
decisive technology.   Fair balance between history and technology but 
some what biased toward history.  Interesting parts about decisions made 
or not made that could have impacted the out come of the war.
