Subject: Re: [ARC5] ARC-2 Defines "Broad as a Barn"
I just figured out what was bothering me about the
subject line. I think this is a confusion of two sayings:
Broad as the side of a barn and Broad as a barn door. There
are many variations such as "He couldn't hit the broad side
of a barn with a shot-gun". Barn doors were broad because
they had to admit a fully loaded hay wagon.
