Hello all,
My name is Jim, my call sign is AC2EU and I'm the new kid on the block.

I have quite a bit of electronic troubleshooting and repair experience, but I found this ARC5 project a bit more daunting than I thought it would be. The problem is mainly all of the "hacking" that was done to these poor unfortunate radios over the years. So far I only have one T-26 ARC5 receiver working on 12v ( with dynamotor) in a modified ARC15 dual rack ( can't find an original).

My goal is to have a mobile 40/80 meter transmitter/receiver pair in racks . ( I found a 12V transmit dynamotor d401 that will probably suffice). Has anybody ever used one of these?

The BC 696 transmitter had its 1625 socket changed to ceramic. That would be OK, but one of them is octal for some oddball mod that was done on it.  Apparently, the tube is a bit wider than other tubes of this era, so the question is...where do I get another ceramic socket?
I've got lots more isssues than that this, but this transmitter is the most restoreable one except for the socket problem, rewiring it with original components shouldn't be problem, since I have a few other basket cases to pull parts from.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
BTW, I have a way of re-stuffing the bathtub caps. If this is of interest to the group, let me know and will provide the details.

Thanks
