[ARC5] My eyes jumped out...

Im 73 and those mods continued into the 60's as part of a cheap way to get 
on SSB using "obsolete" factory exciters of the 50's.
OTOH those phasing exciters sound a lot better than most filter rigs.

I even built the W2EWL SSB rig using a BC-458 for mobile use.

And to get the preservation crowd to further stain their panties, Gonset use 
a BC-458 oscillator module and variable in the GSB-100....no one needed to 
take a mental health day off back then to cry about it.....
