Also SCR-183 isn't AKA BC-229 and BC-230, they are the receiver and the
transmitter for the set, which runs off of 12-14 VDC. The SCR-283 is 24-28 VDC
and the receiver and transmitter are BC-429 and BC-430, not BC-229 and
BC-230. The only parts from one set that will work with the other one are the
tubes, control boxes and connectors. The only parts of any GF, RU or GF/RU
that will work with either SCR-183 or SCR-283 are a few of the connectors and
the receiver tuning head, which under various nomenclature and with various
dials was otherwise common to several sets. And to make matters even more
confusing, some components in both lines (Navy and Army) only work with a
few other number or letter models. Plus the Army had no corollary to the RU
Liason receivers or to the dynamotors used with them (which will not run a
transmitter).
