     While Art Collins was certainly good at promotion, both 
of his company and himself the acceptance of Collins 
equipment by the military and commercial users far preceded 
both the Senator and the General.  Remember the ART-13 and 
much other equipment used by the military.  Collins began to 
manufacture aircraft radio and broadcast equipment long 
before WW-2.
     Now, it would be interesting to know how far back Art 
Collins relations with Curtis LeMay went since LeMay was 
important to the air operations in the pacific (fire bombing 
of Japan etc.)
