Hi,

I have experienced both kinds of these foilbles in tuning dial works.
The generic backlash in geartrains that I am familiar with is the play
between parts. The irritation from "torque windup" that drives the
mechanism backward a little when we let go is slightly more irritating
than just having to move the dial a little further when backing up onto
a signal. I don't really like either one. My dadios don't do that. One
or two used to. They're *GONE*.
