You got it right in your first statement, Robert - it isn't a Command or
ARC-type rack, but something much later. My guess would be 50s/60s vintage
as it likely came through MARS surplus in the 60s-70s. John apparently
missed the 'NOS Aviation Rack' label attached to it which, aside from the
obvious commercial manufactured appearance, indicated it wasn't modified. I
had that for sale for a whopping $10 (the shock mounts are worth more than
that) along with three pieces of Type 12/15 gear(receiver, transmitter,
converter), which were in decent shape and priced together for less than a
single piece would fetch on ebay. Also had O.B.O. on each. Didn't get so
much as a single bite or question. While NEAR-Fest has a very strong
milsurplus contingent including vehicles, there appears to be virtually no
interest in aviation gear.
Did get to meet one of the ARC-5 list members, though. We've been trying to
catch up for the last few events and finally found each other.
