 That is true but the goal here is to restore a rare piece. I have a 1300 kHz crystal for the  T-16 I'll trade for a T-15 crystal.if anyone is interested.

I wonder if you could fit a crystal from another holder into the
ctal.  I think the octal type holder supports a squarish blank and I
on't think the exact width or thickness is necessary for a decent
it.  Perhaps you can scavenge a low freq crystal blank from another
older (800KHz represents a thick blank) and fit it into the octal
ousing from a more common transmitter.  The exact parameters of the
ock are not important as it is not being used to excite a PA; the
RC-5 circuit simply takes advantage of its resonance.
