If "Paul and Julie" have R-112 and R-113,
please stress to them the truly rare nature of
these sets and the need to protect them from "fiddle fingers."
They were indeed the "fathers" of the excellent type-12 receivers.

The T-11 and T-13 transmitters were a totally new design,
having no resemblance to the T-89 and T-90 sets
that initially were intended for use with the -112 and -113.

The type-12 doesn't get the attention it deserves, mostly
because you can't make many contacts on 2-meter AM
these days. Like it or not- if you don't have anyone to talk
to on a particular piece of gear, it gets little to no attention.
That's just "the way of the world."
Doublely "too bad" because by moving two wires,
the little VHF transmitters will FM 4 KCs just fine.
