Thanks, Gordon.
My research showes that many tertiary allies during the war
were still using the 1920s Naval frequency agreements.
Patrol aircraft would need MF voice transmitters to talk 
to unidentified fishing and cargo vessels and those navies.
Since most of the Navy's records of the time have been pulped,
this is probably the closest we're ever going to get to an answer.
