Exactly the same things happens with cars. Those who knew & loved
the Model T are mostly in their graves. Interest moved on to the Ford
Model A (1928-1931) which brought high prices. Now things have skipped
to the muscle cars (though 1932 Fords have a special place in the hearts
of the hot rodders and the glitterati in Southern Cal) The 1933-1950
Fords just never "took off." The Mustang was and to a degree still is
hot, but its the muscle cars of the late 1950s-1970s that are getting
big bucks now.

For we who love the Miller racing cars of the 20s (which are
million dollar plus, now) the same thing is happening. It takes a lot of
wealth to afford a Miller and they have to compete in the big bucks
circles with Ferraris, Maseratis, Alfa Romeos etc.

I suppose it is the same with a lot of collectibles. Time marches
on. What we do to perpetuate the appreciation of objects we love will
help - - -
