As I am sure y'all all know, the Heathkit manuals formerly on BAMA were
removed when the new owner of the intellectual property rights objected
to giving away the info for free.

But the manuals are still available for free download at...

Hi Wayne...
...everybody else. I hope the people in Denmark and people here who
distribute the electronic copies (any download) don't get in a big jam
about this. If we don't want to pay this guy for his manuals we should
buy from each other or trade them. Stealing them is not a good choice.

I actually have intellectual property rights, too, even if they are not
highly valuable. I got in a battle with a *former* employer over them
largely on principle for their "disrespect" - they lost. Due to the
copyright thing I simply decline to buy any Heathkit equipment unless it
comes with the manuals. I also have a DX-100 (complete with manual) that
will give me way more than the legal output on the 11 meter citizens
band. I choose to pay attention to the laws. Not doing so interferes
with my sleep. The 11 meter position on that bandswitch will never be
used.

So where do most people draw the line? Maybe just before it's *THEIR*
rights that are being trampled... Guilty consciences might crank up the
flames but I have said my part. I usually stay out of this stuff but...

73,

Bill KU8H
