That happened to me a while ago. I have a bit of solly state  
electronics of a much more modern sort than the Heath things, useful  
in teletype work.  I had no manual, and it's the sort of box you  
really need the operators manual for to get it running.  SO lo and  
behold I got a GIFT from a fellow who was sympathetic to my cause.   
Now I can at least push the right buttons.
