IMHO, if you have a photo, you have all the "proof" you need.
"The Book" might say it was supposed to be done "this way,"
but research has show it was done every which-way.
Whatever was on hand that would do the job got installed,
including sets never intended for the application.
"The Book" says nothing about SCR-274N land-based use,
but we have photographic proof.  It says nothing about
installing SCR-287 in boats, but I have documentary evidence.
SCR-194 "probably never saw combat," but there it is 
on a radioman's back in combat in Italy.
Bendix MP-28 Dyno/Modulators won't work with 
SCR-274N radios, but there's the installtion in a P-38.
