It's not much of a problem, especially at the low frequencies of the command sets.

You should be able to find a red painted ARC part number on your R-24/ARC-5 tuning capacitor frame.

The following receivers use the same capacitor:

Part Number: ARC-3936 346 uuF
ARA CBY-46129 .19 - .55
R-23, -23A, -148/ARC-5
BC-453
ARA CBY-46145 .52 - 1.5
R-24/ARC-5
BC-946

Part Number: ARC-4601 147 uuF
ARA CBY-46104 1.5 - 3.0
R-25/ARC-5
ARA CBY-46105 3.0 - 6.0
R-26/ARC-5
BC-454

Part Number: ARC-6558 62 uuF
ARA CBY-46106 6.0 - 9.1
R-27/ARC-5
BC-455

I'd assume the equivalent receivers in the post-WWII A.R.C. Type 12 set (R-10A, R-11A) and in the pre-WWII RAV (CBY-46102 and CBY-46103) and ARC Type K receivers would be close also, so maybe you could find one of those old dogs to rob for parts. :-)
